We hope you find this site useful whether you live in Tucson, are considering relocating to Tucson or if you are just interested in finding out more information about our great city and what it has to offer.

Tucson is a growing metropolis of over 800,000 people, with a unique blend of Native American, Mexican, Spanish, African American, Asian and Anglo cultures. The city of Tucson was officially established in 1775 (although the first inhabitants arrived somewhere around 10,000 B.C.) and became U.S. territory in 1854 by the Gadsden Purchase. Locally, the city is still called the Old Pueblo for the adobe fortress or "presidio" that once marked its borders. Today, Tucson is one of the fastest growing urban areas in the U.S. and is expected to reach a population of one million in the next few years.

At an elevation of roughly 2,500 feet and spanning nearly 500 miles,Tucson is surrounded by the Santa Catalina Mountains to the north, the Rincon Mountains to the east, the Tucson Mountains to the west, and the Santa Rita and Sierrita Mountains to the south. The landscape is a beautiful mixture of lush desert trees and plants, rolling hills, winding dry riverbeds, rugged canyons, pine-topped peaks and a clear blue sky about 350 days each year.

Tucson is famous for its warm and sunny weather. In fact, with sunshine 350 days out of the year on average, Tucson is one of the sunniest cities in United States. Summers in Tucson are hot, winters are mild and spring and fall are practically perfect. Summer highs average about 98 F and lows around 70 F and winter highs are around 65 F with lows averaging around 38 F. Springtime temps average near 80 F in the day and near 50 F at night while the fall is much the same but slightly warmer.
